Today’s spotlight verse comes from the Liturgy of the Palms, in the Gospel reading from Mark 11:1-10. We begin the holiest week of the church’s liturgical year with this passage, celebrating Jesus returning to Jerusalem on a donkey to much fanfare. There’s shouting, palm branches waving, and a cloak-covered path to mark his entrance to the city. Journeying to Jerusalem to celebrate Passover like any good Jewish member, Jesus is being treated somewhat like a king. The irony that he will soon be marked King of the Jews is not lost on him in this moment. As we enter this most Holy Week, I invite you to take a moment today and put yourself in a state of reflection. Can you imagine placing yourself there in the crowd welcoming Jesus into the city? Relish in the moment that he has indeed come to save us all and how that might affect your week, and this week in particular. How do you plan to partake in Holy Week observations, leading up to Easter? Tell us how you plan to #livemysunday
