Sunday 2/28/21

Here we have in today’s gospel reading Mark 9:2-9(10), an incredible scene unfolding at the top of a mountain. It is Jesus, along with Peter, James, and John. This is a pivotal moment in the relationship of these men with Jesus. From this point on, they truly see Jesus for who he is, in his unique nature as fully man and fully divine. They have encountered Jesus in a new way and this experience will shape their devotion to him. It was their “aha” moment; they no longer were unsure. If you haven’t had this same “aha” moment, what would you do if you no longer let the doubt creep in, but knew with every fiber of your being that this Gospel is true? Would you listen to his word, love like he loved, cared like he cared, or shout it from the proverbial rooftop? Take a moment today and sit with this thought. How would you live if you too had encountered Jesus in this way? How would you #livemysunday with this absolute certainty?
